New to JYFL

Are you new to JYFL?
It's ok. We were all new at some point and we are ready and willing to help! Here is some important information that will help you navigate the registration, practice and game processes. If you have any questions that are not mentioned here, please contact us at [email protected] If you need to speak with a JYFL Board member, please include your phone number with your email and we will call you as quick as we can.

How do I register?
There is a registration link on the Home page. Select Available Programs from the Helpful Links on the left side of the home page, then select the Cheer or Football division you are interested in.

What happens after I register?
Once you are registered you will begin to receive important information about the season including information about the Football Skills & Evaluation Clinic that is usually held around mid-July. There will also be announcements for JYFL sponsored Sports Physicals and Gear Outs/Uniforms. Please check back on our Website often, like us on Facebook, and watch for emails for all the latest and greatest news and announcements.

What’ is the Football Skills & Evaluation clinic?
The JYFL Skills & Evaluation clinic is an important component of JYFL as it allows the coaches to assess a player's size and basic skill so that teams can be evenly divided. It also gives some necessary basic football training and safety instructions for new players to football.

What equipment do I have to buy?
For Football
: JYFL  provides a game jersey, game pants, practice pants, shoulder pads, helmet, and mouth guard. You will need to provide a practice jersey, cleats, socks, and warmer under gear as the season grows cooler.
For Cheer:
JYFL provides a complete Uniform; Turtleneck Half-Shirt, Leggings, Spanx, Socks, and Bows. You will need tennis shoes (usually white).

Where and when are practices?
Practices are held on fields throughout the Valley. You will be notified of the location and times of practices after you are assigned to a team. Teams are formed following the Skills & Evaluation Clinic (end of July). Cheer teams are formed following a shorter Skills and Evaluation Clinic (end of July)

How can I support my player?
(Great Question!)
JYFL is able to keep the cost of participating in our football program much lower than other youth football leagues due to our annual Raffle Ticket Sales fund-raiser event. You can help your child keep track of his/her assigned tickets and help get them turned in on time. JYFL will also help by offering incentives and drawings for prizes throughout the Raffle Ticket Sales fund-raising event. Ensuring your child gets to practices and games on time, cheering and rooting for him/her on the sidelines, volunteering is a great way to show support for your player.

 Volunteering

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
JYFL is a non-profit Youth Sports organization that relies 100% upon the generosity of volunteers sharing their time and talents with the kids in our community. There are many opportunities within the JYFL program for volunteers to lend a hand with:

Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches & Team Parents - Flag, Football & Cheer
Score keeping
Chain Gang
Setting Up & Taking Down Game Day Field Equipment
Raffle Ticket Sales

You will have an opportunity in the registration process to let us know how you would like to help out.
